More Heart Than Brains: The Collected Plays of Bailey Scieszka, is a recent compendium of the original transcripts of the artist’s first six plays printed on almost lurid rainbow-hued paper. The book offers an in-depth look at the world of Old Put the Clown, Scieszka’s alternative persona, which follows an art historical performance tradition developed by several key artists, ranging from Eleanor Antin and Joan Jonas to Jack Smith and Paul McCarthy.
Featuring an introduction by Kat Herriman and an extended text by Clayton Press, More Heart Than Brains was published by What Pipeline. The book was made possible with support from the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation as part of the Knight Arts Challenge.
